Crowell bows out of NCAA Wrestling Championships

LA CROSSE, Wisc. – Roger Williams University sophomore Wrestler Collin Crowell (Hampstead, N.H.) had his bid for a national championship come to an end at the NCAA Division III National Championship as he was eliminated from contention.

Crowell, wrestling at the 165-pound weight class, faced off against the #4 seed in the brack Zach Thompson of Gettysburg College.  The two battled back-and-forth until Thompson was able to come away with a pin at 6:53 to advance to the second round.

In the consolation bracket, Crowell went up against Nicholas Sanko of Ithaca College, who was earlier defeated by Kevin O'Brien of the host school University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. Crowell was narrowly defeated by O'Brien by a 3-4 score, eliminating him from the tournament.

Crowell closes out the season with a record of 23-7.
