With the win Roger Williams improves to 12-7 overall, 8-4 in the CCC.

Sophomore swimmer Kristen Grandonico (Portland, Maine) has been named Roger Williams University Female Athlete of the Week for her performance against the University of New England this past weekend.
Grandonico secured two individual wins on the day, finishing ahead of her competitors in 1:12.27 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and later earning first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:38.44. She also contributed to the hawks’ win in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, anchoring the team to finish with an impressive time of 2:01.32.
The RWU Swimming and Diving Teams will host Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday, January 28th beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Wrestling
For the week ending January 23th, sophomore wrestler Collin Crowell (Hampstead, N.H.) has earned RWU Male Athlete of the Week honors for his performance in the New England Dual Meet Championship, contributing significantly to the hawks’ fifth place finish.
Crowell went 4-0 on the day, first defeating James Tarpey of Plymouth State 18-2 with a technical fall. Wesleyan’s Richard Leuchter suffered a similar fate as Crowell beat his competitor via technical fall as well (16-1). Crowell went on to earn a major decision (10-1) over Gene Deary of Bridgewater State and then his third technical fall of the tournament over Rhode Island College’s Robert Sotelo.
RWU Wrestling will host the NEWA-Metro Conference Challenge Duals on Saturday, January 28th. The College of New Jersey will be the hawks’ first competitor starting at 12:00 p.m.
