Conor Hayes named RWU Male Athlete of the Week

BRISTOL, R.I. – Sophomore wrestler Conor Hayes (Old Bridge, N.J) has earned RWU Male Athlete of the Week honors for his performance in wins over Rhode Island College and Southern Maine.

Hayes defeated the number one ranked wrestler in New England for his weight class, Mike Trasso of Rhode Island College. His win helped the Hawks to a 24-16 Pilgrim League win. Hayes, who also was named the Pilgrim League wrestler of the week, is currently tied for fourth in the Pilgrim League with 25 wins on the season.

Hayes and the Hawks will be at Western New England on Saturday.
