Women’s Tennis places five players on the All-CCC Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – With the release of the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Women's Tennis team, Roger Williams University had five players receive all-conference honors, including Samantha Curran (Cumberland, R.I.), Tracy Klein (New City, N.Y.), Hillary Dutton (Cheshire, Conn.), Adriana Maconochie (Easton, Conn.), and Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.).

Curran and Klein were each chosen as All-CCC First Team – Singles selections, in addition to being selected as All-CCC First Team – Doubles selections as a pair. Dutton and Schmidt were both picked as All-CCC Honorable Mention – Singles selections, with Dutton and Maconochie paired together as All-CCC Honorable Mention – Doubles.

Curran finished the regular season with a 6-2 record at singles play in the conference, with a 7-4 mark overall. Five of Curran's wins were at the #1 position. Klein closed out the conference season with a 5-2 mark at singles play, playing primarily at #2. At doubles, the two teamed up to go undefeated in conference play, with a 4-0 mark at the #1 position.

Dutton led the Hawks in singles in CCC play with seven, playing mostly at the #4 spot. She also led RWU in overall singles wins, going 9-2 on the year. At doubles play with Maconochie, the two players rolled off a 3-1 record in the CCC, while finishing second on the team in overall doubles wins with five.

Schmidt wrapped up her first regular season as a Hawk with a 6-2 record at singles in the CCC, mostly at #3. Her six conference singles wins and eight overall singles wins ties her for second best on the team.

The Hawks will host Salve Regina University this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the CCC Quarterfinals.
