Jacqui Cohen to serve on NCAA DIII SAAC Committee

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Roger Williams University Women's Swimming & Diving senior Jacqui Cohen (Commack, N.Y.) has been chosen to represent RWU on the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, becoming only one of 24 student-athletes among the 400+ Division III institutions to serve on the committee.

"I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve on the Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee," said Cohen. "Being selected to represent Roger Williams Athletics as well as the Commonwealth Coast Conference is a huge honor. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to being able to voice student-athletes' concerns and comments to the NCAA committee and in return hope to provide a better student-athlete experience for my fellow athletes."

Cohen will serve on the committee for two years until May of 2013. As a national SAAC representative, Cohen will be responsible for gathering feedback and reporting on NCAA-wide issues and disseminating it on behalf of The Commonwealth Coast Conference and its partner conference, as well as relaying important events, hot topics and educational information to both the campus and conference levels.

In addition to relaying information across campuses and conferences, the Division III SAAC speaks on the behalf of the entire Division III student-athlete body throughout the NCAA governance structure.

Cohen is a three-year member of the Women's Swimming & Diving team and helped guide the Hawks to their sixth straight Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship this past December.
