Men's Swimming

Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving fall to Keene State

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams fell to Keene State.  The men lost 134-149 while the women were outscored 119-154.

Sophomore Eric Thurston (Wallingford, Conn.) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.70.  Classmate Adam Stanley (Litchfield, Conn.) won the 1 meter diving competition with 212.55 points.

For the women, sophomore Kristen Grandonico (Portland, Maine) swam the 50 free in 26.18 seconds, only a third of a second from the RWU school record.

Both teams will return to campus in early January before embarking on a training trip to Puerto Rico.  The men's first competition after the holiday break will be the Kumpf Invitational hosted by RPI on January 14.  The women return to competition when both teams host the University of New England on January 21.
