BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams had commanding victories over Bridgewater State. The men's team won by a score of 103-73 while the women's team won 127-97.
Both teams began the day taking the top two spots in the 400 Medley Relay for an early 15-2 lead – a lead neither team would relinquish. The men would claim the top three spots in the 1000 Free behind Tim Ragan (Topsfield, Mass.) (10:27.30), Jason Spazzarini (Enfield, Conn.) (10:59.19), and Rob Schapp (Torrington, Conn.) (11:30.11). The women would follow up with the top three times in the 200 Free from Alana Mercurio (Hope, R.I.) (2:07.29), Erin Carlson (Watertwon, Conn.) (2:10.42), and Sarah Mamula (Madison, Conn.) (2:11.89).
Kristen Grandonico (Portland, Maine) won both the 50 Free and 100 Free with times of 25.89 and 57.27, respectively.
Both teams return to the pool at Roger Williams University's Campus Recreation Center on Friday December 2nd for the 2-day Snowball Invitational.
