SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Roger Williams University sophomores Hannah Pirez (Bolton, Mass.) and Erica Castro (Medford, N.Y.) have been selected to the All-TCCC Honorable Mention Softball Team for their play during the 2010 season.

This is the second consecutive season that both Pirez and Castro have been recognized by the TCCC as an all-conference player. Last year, Pirez and Castro were each named to the All-TCCC Second Team

This past season, Pirez led Roger Williams in numerous offensive categories, including batting average (.403), on-base percentage (.460), home runs (8), and runs batted in (38). Her .798 slugging percentage is the second-highest in a single season in school history and was best in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Pirez also led the TCCC in runs batted in, triples (8), and total bases (99).

Castro was one of four Hawks to start all 39 games this past season. She batted .304 over the year, good for fourth-best on the team, with 19 runs batted in, placing her in a tie for second on the Hawks. Her slugging percentage improved from the previous year, rising 22 points to .355.

Roger Williams finished the season with a 20-19 overall record, while going 12-12 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.
