BRISTOL, R.I. – Sophomore shortstop Hannah Pirez (Bolton, Mass.) was named RWU Female Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance in several contests during spring break in Florida. Pirez helped the Hawks to a 6-4 record while posting five home runs and an on-base percentage of .528.

Pirez hit one home run in five of her 10 games, recording one against Macalester, NYU-Polytechnic, Scranton, Stevens, and Fitchburg State. Equally impressive, Pirez tallied 17 RBI while also crossing the plate nine times. She recorded three triples and one double, helping her to a 1.147 slugging percentage and struck out just three times in 34 at bats.

Pirez and the Hawks return to action Wednesday in their home-opener when they host Anna Maria College at 4 p.m.
