Double-double (20 pts, 12 reb) for Ryan Weekes

WESTON, MASS. Ryan Weekes (Worcester, Mass.) scored a game-high 20 points for Roger Williams (8-15, 4-7 TCCC), but the effort would not be enough as Regis College (15-8, 9-2 TCCC) defeated the Hawks 66-49 Saturday.

Weekes tallied her double-double by the end of the first half, notching 10 points and 10 rebounds. She added another 10 points in the second half, totaling 20 points, and finished with 12 total rebounds.

She also had a game-high eight offensive rebounds. Weekes made up 41 percent of the Hawks offense. Seven Roger Williams players scored, but only Weekes and Hannah Pirez (Bolton, Mass.) scored more than six points.

As a team, Roger Williams stepped to the free-throw line just nine times, making seven of its attempts (.778). The Hawks were 20-of-63 (.317) from the field, including 2-of-12 (.167) from behind the three-point line.

Comparatively, Regis was led by senior Jessica Page (Quincy, Mass.) with 18 points on 7-of-12 (.583) from the field. Teammate Sarah McNult had her fifth double-double of the year with her 13 points and 10 rebounds performance Saturday.

It is the ninth time that McNult has grabbed more than rebounds. Four Regis players had double figures including Page and McNult. Stefanie Wozmak (Auburn, N.H.) and Alex Chace (North Easton, Mass.) had 12 and 10 points respectively.

Regis College outscored Roger Williams 36-21 in the first half. The Hawks closed that gap substantially in the second period, scoring 28 points to the Pride’s 30.

Regis shot better from the field (.442) and three-point line (.357) than the Hawks (.317) and (.167) respectively.

The Pride will finish out its regular season with two The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponents before playoffs. Regis will travel to Nichols College Wednesday, Feb. 17, and host Anna Maria College Saturday, Feb. 19.

Roger Williams will finish with Curry College and Eastern Nazarene respectively.
