BRISTOL, R.I. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference announced today that freshman Holly Hancock (Tilton, N.H.) was named Volleyball Rookie of the Week. The 6-foot-1 middle hitter averaged 3.67 kills per set, helping the Hawks to back-to-back victories.

In Wednesday's rematch of the 2009 TCCC Finals, Hancock posted seven kills on 17 swings, along with two blocks in the three-set win. She followed that performance by leading all players with 15 kills against Babson Saturday. Registering just three errors on 24 swings, Hancock finished with a .500 hitting percentage and also led all players with four blocks.

For the week she posted a .366 hitting average with 1.0 block per set, while recording a kill on 54% of her attempts.This marks the Hawks' sixth TCCC Rookie of the Week honor in seven weeks, as Hancock's teammate Krystie Luczynski (Kensington, Conn.) has gathered five.

She and the Hawks return home Tuesday when they host Lasell College at 7 p.m.
