Springfield, Mass. – The RWU Wrestling Team participated in the New England Wrestling Association's “Headlock for Hunger” program this weekend, collecting donations and food items for the local Springfield, Mass. food pantry.
Fourteen teams participating in this weekend's NEWA Duals Championship Tournament took time out from competing and teamed up to collect food for distribution to those in need within local community. The event was a great success raising money and crates of food for donation.
Dave Kemmy, RWU Head Coach and NEWA Secretary and Reporting Director, said, “NEWA was able to donate a significant contribution to the local food pantry thanks to the efforts of the student-athletes and all the wrestling fans at the event.”
