Fava named Male Athlete of the Week

BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University junior Corey Fava (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) of the Men’s Basketball team has been named the RWU Male Athlete of the Week for his offensive performance in the Hawks victory this past week. He totaled 30 points in two games, including 22 in the Hawks’ conference win over Nichols Saturday.
In the Hawks’ game versus UMass-Dartmouth, Fava had eight points and five assists in 30 minutes of action. In the latter part of the week versus Nichols College he put up his highest point total of the season thus far with 22 points and eight rebounds. He shot 9-14 from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the three-point line in 37 minutes of play. Fava has had a strong season thus far, ranked fourth on the team with an average of 8.7 points per game.
Fava and the rest of the Men’s Basketball team will be at Western New England College for the beginning of this week on Tuesday before returning home on Saturday to face off against Wentworth Institute of Technology.
