STORRS, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Equestrian came away with a seventh-place showing at the University of Connecticut Show Saturday afternoon.
Alicia Levy (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Brittany Cornell (Rowley, Mass.) each earned the only two victories on the day for the Hawks, both in Novice Flat. Levy also finished sixth in Novice Fences.
In Walk-Trot-Canter, Cara McSoley (Essex Junction, Vt.), Margaret Hanvey (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), and Emily Pammet (Groton, Mass.) each had second-place finishes, while Abby Hanc (South Hadley, Mass.), Emily Hamilton (South Windsor, Conn.), and Erin DeMarco (Florence, Vt.) all took fourth place.
Co-captains Danica Kucinski (Shutesbury, Mass.) and Kayla Waskiewicz (Bristol, R.I.) both competed, with Waskiewicz taking fourth in Open Flat and Kucinski finishing second in Open Fences and sixth in Intermediate Flat.
Miranda Downing (Chestnut Hills, Mass.) finished runner-up in Walk Trot, with Megan Schiel-Logvin (Trumbull, Conn.) also earning a second-place finish, this time in Novice Fences. Amelia Stasny (Bernardston, Mass.) wrapped up the Hawk placers with fourth in Intermediate Fences.
Roger Williams will take part in the Johnson & Wales Show next Saturday at JWU Equine Center in Rehoboth, Massachusetts.
