GALES FERRY, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Equestrian placed seventh Saturday afternoon at the Connecticut College Show at Mystic Valley Hunt Club.
Brittany Cornell (Rowley, Mass.) and Alicia Milch (Pelham, Mass.) led the Hawks with a pair of wins in Walk-Trot-Canter and Novice Flat, respectively. This marks the second straight week that Milch has taken first at Novice Flat.
The Hawks also finished runner-up in numerous events, including Shannon O'Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Ashley Gagnon (Lunenburg, Mass.) in Open Flat, Amelia Stasny (Bernardston, Mass.) in Intermediate Fences, Kristen Seturins (Bethel, Conn.) in Novice Flat, and Maggie Hanvey (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and Karen Quinn (Berkley, Mass.) in Walk-Trot-Canter.
Kayla Waskiewicz (Bristol, R.I.) took third place in Open Flat, while Cara McSoley (Essex Junction, Vt.) also came in third in Walk-Trot-Canter. Matching their finishes in Walk-Trot were Sarah Cholewa (Griswold, Conn.) and Danielle Stucchi (Framingham, Mass.).
The Hawks will take this weekend off before returning to action March 7 at the University of Connecticut Show.
