RWU swimming and diving stand third in NEISDA Championships

BRISTOL, R.I. – The RWU women's swim team ranks third after nine events in the NEISDA swimming and diving championships. Only Keene State and Bentley University stand ahead of the Hawks after day one.

RWU totaled 190 points through the first nine events, edging Saint Michael's College and Western Connecticut State, which totaled 188 and 185, respectively. Keene State leads with 330, while Bentley ranks second with 303.

RWU senior Jill Mackey (Redding, Conn.) registered 21 points with her third-place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle. She posted a time of 26.26 to finish just 1.31 off the lead. Meanwhile, senior Katy Friedrich (Stratham, N.H.) posted a time of 26.71 to earn 12 points with her ninth-place finish.

The action continues tomorrow at Umass-Dartmouth, beginning at 10 a.m.
