BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track and Field team has found its four leaders for the 2010 season. Sophomore Donovan Currier (Burlington, Vt.), classmate Jamie Goodwick (Newtown, Conn.), junior Jonathan Ellis (Yonkers, N.Y.) and junior Andrew Gallant (Merrimac, Mass.) will be the four Captains for the upcoming season.
In his second year of competition Currier has shown that he has the qualities required to take on the responsibility of being a captain. Also in his second year of collegiate competition and looking to have an impact this season is Goodwick. Although the program is still new, these two bring a year's experience to the table and look to help lead the team to a successful 2010 campaign.
Two juniors have also been given the responsibility of leading the team. Ellis and Gallant teamed up in the fall on the Men's Cross Country team and were able to capture the school's ninth consecutive TCCC title. They hope to continue with that success and carry it over to the track in the spring.
Next semester the track and field team will be getting ready for the 2010 season. Ellis, Gallant, Currier and Goodwick will all be looking to gain some more experience on the track and in the field, and present a strong challenge to whomever they may be going against in the upcoming season.
