Women’s Swimming and Diving Races at Batterman Relays

BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Swimming and Diving team was in action at the Batterman Relays which were hosted by MIT on Saturday.  Other universities which were competing were the hosts, Tufts University and Wheaton College.  The team participated in a variety of relay events ranging from backstroke to butterfly and a number of others in between.

The team was led by a fourth place performance turned in by Ursula Nickerson (Torrington, Conn.), Olivia Hilton (Vernon, Conn.), Kelly Meacham (Southington, Conn.) and Caitlin O'Connor (Wallingford, Conn.).  Competing in the 200-yd Breaststroke Relay, the four swimmers turned in a time of 2:20.69 behind the teams from MIT, Wheaton and Tufts who finished first through third.  Earning a fifth place finish out of nine teams was the team of Jacqui Cohen (Commack, N.Y.), Melly Marrington (Farmington, Conn.), Nickerson, and O'Connor in the 200-yd Butterfly with a time of 1:57.97.

Also having a strong showing in the 200-yd Medley Relay was the team of Ashley Kichline (Souderton, Pa.), Marrington, Nickerson and Cohen who placed seventh out of 16 teams in the race.

The Women's Swimming and Diving team will be competing against Clark University on Saturday as they travel to Worcester, Mass. for a meet with a scheduled start time of 1:00 p.m.
