CUMBERLAND, Maine – The Roger Williams University Men’s Cross Country team was in action Saturday afternoon at the Division III Regional Qualifier. The team finished in 23rd overall out of 48 teams, with a total team time of 2:19:15.0. The Hawks had all five of their point-earners finish in the top-200 out of the 300 plus runners, led by Mitch Leveille (North Kingstown, R.I.) who finished in 73rd.
Leveille finished in a time of 26:58.7 which set the pace for the team. He was followed up by teammate Jonathan Ellis (Yonkers, N.Y.) who finished in 83rd overall with a time of 27:06.3. Coming in third for the team was Thomas Maybury (East Longmeadow, Mass.) with a time of 27:42.7 which was good for 124th overall. Junior Andrew Gallant (Merrimac, Mass.) turned in a time of 28:41.3 which put him in 177th overall, and close behind in 179th was Timothy Eynatian (Chelmsford, Mass.) with a time of 28:46.0. Finishing in 215th was Matt Carney (Canton, Mass.) with a time of 29:37.4 and following him in 256th was Jeff Pini (Wellesley, Mass.) with a final time of 30:45.2.
The event marks the end of another impressive season for the Men’s Cross Country team. They were able to capture their ninth straight TCCC Championship, and are only looking forward to continuing that tradition of excellence next season.
