BRISTOL, R.I.Three second-half goals helped the Roger Williams University Women’s Soccer team defeat Curry College Saturday afternoon by a 3-0 score on Senior Day during Homecoming Weekend.

All three Hawk seniors, Carey Baldwin (West Hartford, Conn.), Amanda daCunha (Wethersfield, Conn.), and Jen Garside (Londonderry, N.H.), each made a strong contribution in the game towards the Hawks win.

daCunha slid a beautiful through ball at midfield to a streaking Maddy Howard (Medfield, Mass.) in the 75th minute, who converted the pass for the Hawks’ second goal of the game. Baldwin sent a long cross over the box to Laurin Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) on the right side, where she put in a shot to the left for her second goal of the game. Garside made a pair of stops in 87:34 of action without allowing a goal to earn her ninth win of the season.

Pendleton ended the scoreless tie early in the second half after outrunning a slew of Colonel defenders from midfield, setting up shop on the right side of the box and clearing a goal to the left side of the net. The goal would prove to be all the Hawks would need in the game.

Curry keeper Julia Tinetti (New Haven, Conn.) stayed busy throughout the game, making ten saves on the day. Teammate Brooke DeLuca (Duxbury, Mass.) led Curry with two shots.

Roger Williams (10-5-2, 8-3-1 TCCC) wraps up the regular season on Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. game at Eastern Nazarene College, while Curry (9-5-3, 5-5-2 TCCC) travels to Wentworth Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
