BRISTOL, R.I. - Four members of the Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team have been named to the All-TCCC team for their performances this season. Junior
Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.), Freshman
Tracy Klein (New City, N.Y.), Sophomore
Caitlin Osepchuk (Ocean Grove, N.J.), and Sophomore
Amanda Wolfe (Mansfield, Mass.) have all received All-Conference Honors.
Both Klein and Ribchinsky were named to the All-TCCC Second Team in singles for their efforts so far this year. Wolfe was given Honorable Mention recognition. In Doubles the teams of Osepchuk and Ribchinsky as well as Wolfe and Klein both received Honorable Mention for the conference.
Ribchinsky was the number one singles player for the Hawks all season, compiling an overall record of 6-6, and 5-5 in the TCCC. The Junior was also named Captain of the team this season by Head Coach Neil Caniga.
Klein, a Freshman, did quite well in her first year of collegiate play going 9-3 overall and 8-2 in TCCC play. Klein won her one match at number one singles, and went 8-3 as the number two singles player for the Hawks.
Wolfe received Honorable Mention for her strong performance as she went 10-0 overall and 8-0 in the TCCC, being able to stay undefeated all the way through the season. The sophomore played at number two, three, and four singles during the year
Two of the Hawks' doubles teams also were recognized for their efforts these past couple of months. The duo of Klein and Wolfe compiled a record of 8-3 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Ribchinsky and Osepchuk were also solid for RWU going 6-3 overall and 6-2 in TCCC competition.
These four and the rest of the team look to continue on in the TCCC playoffs as they play in the Semifinals against Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday, October 21st in New London, New Hampshire.
