BRISTOL, R.I. – Freshman Luke Lawrence (Palm City, Fla.) of the Hawks Sailing Team was named RWU Male Athlete of the Week after this strong performance over the weekend, in which he earned a spot at the ICSA National Championship in Corpus Christi, Texas next month.

Competing in the New England Men's Singlehanded Championships Saturday and Sunday, Lawrence finished among the top two in nine of his 19 races, including five first-place finishes. The performance led to a fourth-place finish overall, providing him with the bid into the National Championship.
