BRISTOL, R.I. - Head Coach Steve Pappas has named Senior
Michelle Caprice (Oak Ridge, N.J.) to serve as Team Captain this season. Caprice has shown the work ethic and leadership desired and expected of her by Coach Pappas and her teammates. Last season she earned All-TCCC second team honors and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, going the entire season without committing a single error.
In her career at Roger Williams, Caprice has 96 hits in 347 at bats for an overall average of .277. Last year she led the team in On Base Percentage at .424. On defense she has an impressive .943 fielding percentage committing very few errors in her three years playing Outfield and Second Base. She went 34-34 in putouts in 2009, staying perfect on the year with no errors charged.
Coach Pappas had high praises for Caprice as he stated, "Last season, as a junior, Michelle was stellar for our team. She improved upon her athleticism both defensively and offensively. Her accomplishments did not go unnoticed by opposing coaches as she was named to the all-conference team. This year, I have named her the team captain. I look forward too and expect great things from Michelle both on and off the field as she prepares for the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference Softball Season and the challenges the season will present to her and the team."
