BRISTOL, R.I. – The RWU wrestling team registered 155.0 points Sunday, taking first place in the Scott Viera Invitational, hosted by RWU, Sunday. Three Hawks took first place in their respective weight class.
Williams posted a second place finish with 139.5 points followed by Plymouth State with 67.0 points and Norwich, with 58.5 points. Brown did not record a team score.
RWU Senior Andrew Hawley (Huntington, Mass.) pinned Brown's Grant Overcashier at 7:43 to take first place in the 141 weight class. Hawks junior Chris Nadeau (Granby, Conn.) also placed first, posting a 7-2 win over Silas Bowerman of Norwich in the 174 championship.
In the 197 championship bout, RWU senior Dan Woods (Demarest, N.J.) defeated fellow Hawk, Nick Cambi (Cohasset, Mass.), 8-4.
