BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Swimming & Diving team cruised to a pair of wins against Regis College and Colby-Sawyer College Saturday afternoon, winning 138-71 over Colby-Sawyer and 155-57 over Regis.
The Hawks won 14 of the 16 events on the day, including a pair of wins by senior Erin Leonhardt, who took first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:09.07 and the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:49.92. Freshman Ursula Nickerson (Torrington, Conn.) also picked up a pair of victories in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 33.46, and the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:12.71.
Also earning wins for the Hawks were freshman Sarah Beron (North Providence, R.I.) in the 50 Yard Backstroke (31.45), junior Brigid Houlihan (Nahant, Mass.) in the 1000 Yard Freestyle in 11:43.78, and freshman Jacqui Cohen (Commack, N.Y.) in the 50 Yard Butterfly (29.84).
In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Beron, Cohen, Nickerson, and senior Jill Mackey (Redding, Conn.) clocked in at 2:02.81 for the win. Mackey would later earn another victory in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 26:86.
Senior Cara Naylor (Windsor, Conn.) won both the 1 and 3-Meter diving events with respective scores of 209.75 and 207.15.
Roger Williams goes up to the University of New England next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
