BRISTOL, R.I.- Roger Williams senior equestrian Lauren Rarich (Slingerlands, N.Y.) has been selected RWU Female Athlete of the Week after her tremendous performance at Regional Finals this past weekend.  Rarich earned an individual championship in intermediate flat, qualifying her for Zone Finals this coming Saturday.

Rarich rode in the first heat of intermediate flat, and was the top rider from her heat called back for the final section.  Head Coach Eliza Davis noted that Rarich "rode a difficult horse very well."

Rarich is no stranger to Zones, having placed fourth in novice flat at last year's Zone Finals.  This Saturday she will ride off against the top two intermediate riders from each of New England's four regions.  The horse show is hosted by Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass.
