BRISTOL, R.I. – In its only home show of the Fall 2008 season, the Roger Williams University Equestrian team finished in fourth place at the RWU/Brown Show Saturday afternoon.

Roger Williams tallied 32 points on the day, seven points behind the University of Connecticut, who won the show with 39 points.

The Hawks earned two wins in Novice Flat from Olivia Cornell (Rowley, Mass.) and Alyssa Schankman (Newtown, Conn.). At Novice Fences, Alicia Levy (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Jacqui Allred (Paoli, Pa.) gave Roger Williams two wins in the event.

Ashley Gagnon (Lunenburg, Mass.) and Brittney Cornell (Rowley, Mass.) finished runner-up in Intermediate Flat and Walk-Trot-Canter, while Kristen Seturins came in third in Novice Fences. Also garnering third-place finishes were Miranda Downing (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) in Walk Trot, Alicia Milch (Pelham, Mass.) in Walk-Trot-Canter, and Shannon O'Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) in Open Fences.

Becky Bryant (West Boylston, Mass.) placed fourth in Walk Trot, while Amelia Stasny (Bernardston, Mass.) also took fourth place in Intermediate Fences. Stasny also place sixth in Intermediate Flat.

Roger Williams will have the upcoming weekend off, but will return to action on November 1 at the Connecticut College Show at Valley Hunt Club.
