WOMEN'S TENNIS TAKES HOME CCC CHAMPIONSHIP

NEWPORT, RI- The women's tennis team battled to a 5-4 victory over Salve Regina to win their second CCC Championship.

With the teams tied 4-4, Caitlyn Leone (Irvington, NY) won at #1 singles (3-6, 6-4, 7-5) in the desicive match. Leone teamed up with Jessica Manners (East Longmeadow, MA) to win at #1 doubles, but Salve Regina would take both #2 and #3 doubles.

Meghan Cornell (Clifton Park, NY) won at #4 singles and Kelsey Parente (Barkhamsted, CT) won at #6 singles. Kim Spencer (Brimfield, MA) won at #5 singles and finished the season undefeated (14-0).

RWU won thier first CCC Title in 2002 and will earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournoment as a result of winning the 2006 CCC Championship.
