Dwight Datcher ended his playing career on the Men’s Basketball team as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,486 points. He is also one of three players in program history to have his jersey number (25) retired. He served as head coach of the Men’s Basketball team from 1985-1992, collecting 61 wins in his seven seasons. In 1987 as a member of the Men’s Basketball team, he helped lead Roger Williams to its first Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. That season, the Hawks ended the year with 17 wins, tied for third-most in a single season in RWU history. He also was Director of Athletics at Roger Williams from 1989-92. Datcher has also served in athletic administration capacity at University of District of Columbia and Georgetown University. Currently, he is the Athletic Director at Wheelock College.
