John Cronin returns for his second season as an Assistant Baseball Coach.
Cronin is a 2006 graduate of The University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia where he majored in Sociology. Cronin played baseball all four years in attendance at The University of Richmond and is the holder of several all-time pitching records. Cronin received the University of Richmond Patricia Cochran Cecil Award for enthusiasm and dedication both on the baseball field and in the classroom.
Cronin has worked as a baseball camp instructor at The University of Richmond and as a baseball instructor at the Richmond Baseball Academy, both still while in college. During both of these jobs Cronin provided and developed schedules and taught baseball fundamentals. Cronin also shared advice on fitness regimens for the potential athletes. Along with this experience, Cronin spent time volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of America in New Haven, Connecticut and Richmond, Virginia.
Cronin’s baseball experience is strongest in the positions of pitcher and outfielder. Cronin holds school records in season & career saves and season & career appearances. During his time as a Spider, Cronin has received many accolades including, but not limited to, 2005 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List, a top-20 ranking in saves in Division I in 2004, and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2003.
