Women’s Cross Country takes 18th at ECACs

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Cross Country team came away with an 18th-place finish Saturday afternoon at the ECAC Championships.

“It was a good team finish for us today, equaling last year's result,” said Head Coach Sean Livingston.

Junior Katie O'Koren (Franklin, Mass.) ran her best race of the year, finishing the 6K course in 71st place with a personal best of 25:25.97 and nearly 20 seconds faster than last week's pace. With her finish, she earns the seventh and final spot for the Hawks at the New England Championships.

Junior Nina Groseclose (Baltimore, Md.) capped off a strong end to the season, taking 90th place by just sneaking under 26 minutes at 25:58.95. Freshman Jane Depgen (Orange, Conn.) came in six seconds later (26:04.59) to cap off a first year described by Coach Livingston as outstanding.

Junior Lauren Riccardi (Reading, Mass.) powered through illness to take 176th place, with a time of 28:04.45.

“She ran this race still feeling the effects of being sick for the better part of two weeks and really showed a lot by toughing it out,” said Livingston. “She's had a good year; she just got sick at a bad time.”

Roger Williams will compete at the New England Championships next Saturday at Bowdoin College.
