30th for Men’s Cross Country at ECACs

BRISTOL, R.I. – At the ECAC Championships Saturday afternoon, the Roger Williams University Men's Cross Country team placed 30th overall in a field filled with teams throughout the Northeast.

"I was hoping we'd finish a little higher, as we were 23rd last year," said Head Coach Sean Livingston.

Junior Matt Carney (Canton, Mass.) had another solid performance, finishing first for the team with a time of 29:33.21. He earned the eighth spot as an alternative for the Hawks for the New England Championships.

Sophomore Jeremy Kacher (Waltham, Mass.) was the team's second finisher, taking 161st with a time of 30:06.52. Following him was freshman Joseph Hurley (Madison, Conn.), who claimed 180th in 30:26.23.

Sophomores David Fitol (East Hampton, Conn.) and Dan Herbein (York, Maine) each broke 31 minutes, taking 196 and 203rd with respective times of 30:43.92 and 30:50.75.

Roger Williams heads to the New England Championship next Saturday at Bowdoin College.
