SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men’s Soccer team has been chosen to finish second in The Commonwealth Coast Conference, according to the TCCC Preseason Poll.
Western New England College, three-time TCCC defending champions, has been selected as the favorite to win the 2010 TCCC Men’s Soccer championship, receiving 11 of the 14 first-place votes. Roger Williams University earned the three remaining first-place votes. Salve Regina University and Wentworth Institute of Technology were picked to finish third and fourth, respectively.
Teams received 14 points for every first place vote received, 13 points for second place votes, 12 points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are shown in parentheses.
In the 2009 season, Roger Williams wrapped up the regular season with a conference record of 9-3-1, earning the Hawks the second seed in the upcoming TCCC Tournament. RWU defeated seventh-seeded Curry College 2-1 in the TCCC Quarterfinals before falling 0-2 to third-seeded Wentworth Institute of Technology in the quarterfinals. This season, the Hawks look to claim its first TCCC Championship since 2006.
