BRISTOL, R.I.The Roger Williams University Athletic Department has announced the resignation of Tracey Hathaway, Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Compliance Coordinator, effective as of May 21.

“We wish Tracey all the best in her future endeavors,” said Acting Athletic Director Dave Kemmy.

Hathaway compiled a 28-49 record during her three years as head coach of the Hawks. Over that span, the Hawks qualified for The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament twice while having three players named to the TCCC All-Academic Team.

Assistant Coach Chris Passmore has been promoted to Interim Head Coach for the next two months as the department transitions into the search process for Hathaway’s replacement.

During the 2009-10 season, the Hawks finished with a 9-17 record, ending the year with a loss to the University of New England in the TCCC Quarterfinals. Freshman Alexandra Lanieri (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) was one of two freshman to earn All-TCCC honors.
