NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Women’s Track & Field team grabbed eighth place Saturday at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational.
Leading the way for the Hawks was Kristen Metcalf (Londonderry, N.H.) who finished third in the 100-Meter Dash with a time of 13:09. Earlier in the day, she took fifth in the 400-Meter Dash, crossing the line at 1:00.89.
Katlin Florin (Woodbury, Conn.), who finished third in the Long Jump at 4.75 meters. She would later finish seventh in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.23 meters. Meghan Parez (Manorville, N.Y.), who claimed sixth with her distance of 4.60 meters.
In the 5000-Meter Run, Liliana Rutler (Wyckoff, N.J.) clinched second place with her time of 19:21.86. The Hawks also placed fourth in the Javelin Throw, with Katelyn Kotfila (Falmouth, Mass.) going for a distance of 33.85 meters.
RWU had one top-ten finisher in the 200-Meter Dash, with Emily D'Iorio (Peabody, Mass.) coming in ninth with a time of 28.39.
Next Saturday, Roger Williams will travel to Massachusetts to take part in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
