SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference has announced its All-TCCC Men’s Tennis team, with Jeff DeNunzio (Barrington, R.I.), Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.), Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.), and Nate Rohman (Topsham, Maine) each being recognized, as well as Head Coach Neil Caniga being named TCCC Coach of the Year.
DeNunzio was named All-TCCC First Team – Singles after a season in which the sophomore #1 player finished 6-1 in the conference at the first flight. This marks his second straight season making the all-conference team.
Kleitz earned All-TCCC Second Team –Singles honors after compiling a 9-1 record in the TCCC over the year. This is his first season as an all-conference singles player. He finished a perfect 9-0 at the #2 and #3 positions, with five wins at #2 and four wins at #3. He sits in second place among the Hawks in singles wins with 12.
Baker received All-TCCC Honorable Mention – Singles in a season where he led Roger Williams in singles wins with ten. A three-time all-conference singles player, he finished undefeated at the #5 and #6 positions, going 7-0. He is currently on an 11-match winning streak and leads the team in singles wins with 13.
Baker and Rohman also were recognized by the conference as All-TCCC Honorable Mention – Doubles. The duo put together a 7-2 season in the TCCC while leading Roger Williams in doubles wins with nine on the year.
In his first year as Head Coach of the Hawks, Neil Caniga led the Hawks to its second consecutive regular season conference title and second straight undefeated conference regular season. The Hawks ran through the TCCC with a perfect 11-0 record en route to earning the #1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Roger Williams finished the regular season with a 14-6 overall record and will host eighth-seeded Curry College Tuesday afternoon in the opening quarterfinal round of the TCCC Tournament.
