Gillespie named RWU Male Athlete of the Week
BRISTOL, R.I. – Sophomore Zach Gillespie (New Preston, Conn.) of the men’s Track and Field Team was named RWU Male Athlete of the Week for his excellent showing at the Husky Spring Open.
Gillespie had one of the best performances for the Hawks as he finished 3rd in the 110-meter hurdles recording a time of 16.21. Because of his outstanding time, Gillespie qualified for the New England Championships that will be held in April. Despite the rigorous competition from Division I and II schools, Gillespie provided the Hawks with an impressive show.
Gillespie, along with his fellows Track and Field teammates, look to continue their success on Saturday at the Jerry Gravel Classic at 10:00am.
