Baseball’s Brian Hurld playing well for Namur Angels

BRISTOL, R.I.Roger Williams University pitcher Brian Hurld (South Boston, Mass.) is enjoying success on the mound and at the plate as a member of the Namur Angels of the Belgian baseball league Ligue Francophone Belge de Baseball–Softball.

 

Hurld currently stands with a record of 2-0, surrendering only five hits in 15 innings pitched. In addition to his undefeated record, Hurld is also handling the bat well, with four hits in six at-bats with two doubles and five RBI.

 

Hurld signed a contract to play professional baseball with the Angels this past June. He finished the 2009 campaign with a 6-1 record and a 2.17 ERA, both best on the team. He was the 2008 Commonwealth Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and is the Hawks' career leader in innings pitched at 219.1 and complete games at 16.
