BRISTOL, R.I. – RWU seniors Mike Horan (Acton, Mass.), Dave Hurley (Hanover, Mass.), and Beaver Barone (Weymouth, Mass.) have been selected to participate in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East/West All-Star game this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Tufts University.
Horan is a four-time all-conference defender, recently earning Second Team honors this past season. During the 2009 season, he picked up 21 ground balls, while also causing five turnovers in 14 games played. He ended his career with 86 total ground balls.
This past season, Hurley received his third consecutive All-TCCC recognition after leading the Hawks in goals and points with 39 and 52, respectively. He currently stands tied for sixth on the Hawks' all-time goals scoring list with 111 in his career.
Barone, also a three-time all-conference player, finished the 2009 campaign fourth on the team in points with 25 on 13 goals and 12 assists. The four-year attacker ranks sixth all-time in school history with 133 ground balls.
The three seniors helped guide Roger Williams to a #3 seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament after going 12-5 overall, the team's most wins since 2002.
