Equestrian finishes sixth in last show of regular season

REHOBOTH, Mass.The Roger Williams University Equestrian wrapped up the regular season Saturday afternoon after taking sixth place at the Johnson & Wales Show.

 

Ashley Gagnon (Lunenburg, Mass.) earned the sole win on the day for the Hawks, taking first in Open Flat. She also placed third in Intermediate Fences.

 

Danica Kucinski (Shutesbury, Mass.) and Megan Schiel-Logvin (Trumbull, Conn.) each picked up a second-place finish for RWU in Intermediate Flat and Novice Flat, respectively. In addition to the pair of runners-up, the Hawks also had two more third-place finishers: Kayla Waskiewicz (Bristol, R.I.) in Intermediate Fences, Karen Quinn (Berkely, Mass.) in Walk-Trot-Canter, and Danielle Stucchi (Framingham, Mass.) in Walk Trot.

 

Also placing for the Hawks were Shannon O'Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) in Open Fences (fourth), Samantha Taylor (Essex Junction, Vt.) in Intermediate Flat (fourth), Kathryn Johnson (Sandwich, Mass.) in Walk-Trot-Canter (fourth), Callie Stewart (Ocala, Fla.) in Novice Fences (fourth), Kristen Seturins (Bethel, Conn.) in Novice Flat (fifth), and Sarah Cholewa (Griswold, Conn.) in Walk Trot (fifth).

 

Next up for the Hawks is Regionals, which will be held on March 28.
